An-Nās

Ayah : 1

قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ

(1) Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,

Ayah : 2

مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ

(2) The Sovereign of mankind,

Ayah : 3

إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ

(3) The God of mankind,

Ayah : 4

مِن شَرِّ ٱلۡوَسۡوَاسِ ٱلۡخَنَّاسِ

(4) From the evil of the retreating whisperer[2016] -

[2016]- i.e., a devil who makes evil suggestions to man but disappears when one remembers Allāh.

Ayah : 5

ٱلَّذِي يُوَسۡوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ

(5) Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind -

Ayah : 6

مِنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ

(6) From among the jinn and mankind."[2017]

[2017]- Evil prompters may be from men as well as from jinn.
